COME-GROW-GO

The mission and passion of Anderson Hills United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. Your spiritual growth is important to us. We want to help each person grow to their fullest potential in Christ.
So we have designed a process that is easy, obvious and strategic. We call it Come, Grow, Go.
The first step in this process is come. Christ invites all into his family and so do we. Usually the first place people meet us is in worship. Worship is at the heart of who we are as the people of God. We desire everyone to experience God’s presence and what it means to be in an authentic community of faith that can inspire people to a life change.
The next step in the process is to grow. After our new members join, they usually ask, “What do I do next?” We want people to be growing in their spiritual lives so we help them find a place where they can fit in, grow in their prayer life, their understanding of scripture, and use their gifts. We want people to find a small group to join and begin developing some new friendships.
Finally, we want people to go. The Christian life is not about sitting in a pew. Jesus said “Go and make disciples.” We desire people to become ministers of Jesus Christ for the purpose of using their gifts to change the world and help others experience the love and trust of God. One of our six habits is to invite others to church. As we invite people to church, we have the opportunity to walk with them through this same process. Church is not about me. It’s about us.
So the come, grow, go process is about helping and encouraging you in your spiritual journey. But ultimately you must be responsible. Your pastors can’t do it for you. We can’t read your Bible for you. It’s a journey you must take.
