Mission: To help nurture a child’s love for Jesus, love for others and love for learning.

October, 2017

Dear Parents,

We have enjoyed getting to know your children these first few weeks and are looking forward to a wonderful school year! Your child’s success is important to us. You can help your child do their best at school every day by ensuring a good night’s sleep and breakfast before they arrive.

In September the children learned about the first Fruit of the Spirit – “Love.” The boys and girls really enjoyed attending chapel time where they sang “Jesus Loves Me,” met our puppet friends Scout and Scamper, and learned in a Bible story that Jesus loves all the children. The Fruit of the Spirit for October is “Joy.” You are welcome to join us in the Kids Rock room at 9:45 am for chapel time. Our October chapel dates are Wednesday, October 4 and Friday October 6.

You will have an opportunity to have your child’s picture taken at school by a professional photographer. The photographer will take both individual and class photos. Picture days are scheduled for October 10 - 13 and order forms with your child’s specific picture date will be sent home soon in your child’s school bag.

The church rummage sale is scheduled for October 13 and 14. This means the parking lot will be very busy on Friday, October 13. The metal barrier between parking lots will be open to allow for overflow parking into the church annex and the medical building parking lots. Please walk on the sidewalk with your child and hold their hand at all times for safety.

Our annual Pumpkin Patch will take place on Wednesday, October 18 and Friday, October 20. On these days the children will choose a small pumpkin, have a special snack of popcorn and apple juice and hear a special story. The Halloween parade and parties will take place on October 27 and 31. The preschool children will parade on the front driveway if the weather is nice or inside the preschool hallways if it is raining. The toddler classes will parade in the Kid’s Rock room. Please do not send your child to school in a costume that is scary or that includes toy weapons of any kind. When planning special treats for Halloween parties, please remember to send in a pre-packaged item that does not contain nut ingredients of any kind.

God Bless,
