Disciple Now is a weekend of in-depth discipleship. In 2017, Disciple Now weekend will be held March 17-19! At D Now, students study scripture together in homes. Our host home families are families from within AHUMC. Students are divided up into host homes by classification and gender. In other words, 7th grade boys will have their own small group leader and host home, as well as 7th grade girls. The high school groups may choose to come together for bible study, but will have separate host homes for housing purposes.
College students, some of which are from AHUMC, lead the small group bible studies. Students also serve together during the weekend. Saturday morning is spent serving people in our community with projects around their homes. Students worship together on Saturday night and Sunday morning. These services are led by our Student Pastor, Matt Howe and our Student Praise Band, Out of Dust.
Students have a TON OF FUN together! There is even a community-wide scavenger hunt on Saturday afternoon that is always one of the highlights of the weekend! Students complete various tasks around the community in order to earn points for their team. Some tasks earn them points while other tasks cost them points. The beauty of it all is that they don’t know which tasks are which.
