UMW

Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.


What does it mean to be a member?

A MEMBER of the United Methodist Women is one who commits herself to our PURPOSE and chooses to participate in meetings, prayer, giving, study, action, and/or service. The organization celebrates an inclusive membership and welcomes all women who want to be members.This community of women is:Centered in relationship with God through Jesus Christ;Focused on ministries with women, children and youth;Involved in mission both locally and globallyCommitted to inclusivenessPledged to provide financial support for mission in the development and use of skills for service, leadership developmentPersonal growth.

What is a Member at Large?

A member at large is one who cannot attend meetings but wishes to pledge and participates in planned events when possible.

UMW Circles

The UMW is organized into Circles, which are small groups formed for friendship and study. Local circles are Hannah, Elizabeth, Martha, and Sarah (day Circles). Esther and Lydia Circles meet in the evening.
