Serving the Youth in Our Community

Our church has a partnership with Mt. Washington Elementary.  During the 2010-2011 school year an estimated 40 students will be blessed with the fellowship of our church volunteers.   These volunteer/student pairs meet weekly to share a church prepared dinner, spend an hour in a tutoring session and experience a speaker who will teach and encourage their growth.

In 2005, WhizKids under the City Gospel Mission organization started this program to help stop the literacy deficiency that occurs in Cincinnati schools. Our church is happy to join the many local churches doing just that with Whiz Kids.

After six months of a successful student/volunteer relationship, the volunteer can become a WhizKids Mentor. The WhizKids mentoring program allows for mentors and students to spend time further developing their relationship away from the weekly planned sessions at our church.
